Scholarships
Micklin Law Group Educational Scholarship
Brad Micklin knows that a great education isn’t attainable for everyone, even those who have the drive to do great things with their knowledge. As one of four siblings who grew up with a single mother, he understands that sometimes families must make tough decisions when it comes to money. Brad wants to do his part to ensure that kids who lack the resources necessary can have some additional financial support. He is proud to offer a need-based scholarship for young people who have the work ethic and drive to succeed at college and could benefit from financial assistance. Brad offers this scholarship twice a year, once for fall semester and once for spring semester.
The Eugene H. Austin Annual Scholarship for Fathers
Dads deserve more credit than they often receive, especially when they are tasked with raising their children without a co-parent. Are you a father who has full custody of your children? If you’re in need of some financial assistance to pay for your child’s college education, we want to make your life a little easier. Apply for The Eugene H. Austin scholarship, and you may receive a $1000 award to spend on your family.
We offer this award in honor of the late Judge Eugene H. Austin, Brad Micklin’s professional mentor and friend. Judge Austin’s fatherly advice helped shape Brad’s career, and Brad is forever grateful for his guidance. In his honor, The Micklin Law Group is pleased to announce the creation of the Honorable Eugene H. Austin annual scholarship fund.
Charitable Contributions
As a family law attorney, Brad Micklin has worked with clients of all ages and interacted with parents and children who are going through a difficult time together. It has always been important to Brad to give children the best chance at success. He has worked for years to ensure they are able to spend adequate time with their loving parents and that their financial needs are met after their parents’ divorce. Brad also believes in acting as a mentor for children and teenagers who are driven to serve others.
Recently, Brad co-authored a book called Worry-Free Divorce. The book discusses strategies which can be used to reduce the conflict, worry, and stress often experienced throughout and beyond the divorce process. 100% of the royalties from the retail sales of this book are donated to an organization called Lemonade Day. This organization is dedicated to supporting and cultivating the skills of young entrepreneurs, a cause with which Brad really connects. Lemonade Day works with children throughout the country to teach entrepreneurship through real world experience. Young entrepreneurs start their own business, a lemonade stand, and learn all the skills needed to set a goal, make a plan, and work the plan to achieve their dreams.Learn more about Lemonade Day here.

Donation Match
Brad keeps certain causes near and dear to his heart, but he also enjoys hearing about the causes his staff and clients support. Brad makes charitable contributions to these organizations through a donation match. When an employee or client is donating money to a cause, Brad pledges his own monetary donation equal to the amount given by that community member. This allows him to contribute to a diverse array of charities while still focusing on those in which his community wants to invest. Are you raising money for an important cause?
