A frequent guest on Fox News and other media outlets, Brad was quoted by the Fox Business News website on October 24, 2019, in a story about the college admissions scandal.

Brad was sought out after the Department of Justice laid additional charges on 11 of the parents accused of paying to have their children admitted to top-flight universities. Facing the new charges are, among others, Full House star Lori Laughlin and her husband, a fashion designer.

In the article, Brad speculated that adding heavy charges to those already filed – charges which could bring penalties of 50 or more years in prison if convicted – is a maneuver by prosecutors to pressure the defendants into accepting a plea bargain and avoid the time and expense of a trial.

Brad Micklin told Fox Business News that he interpreted the move as a way for prosecutors “to show that they’re not being soft on those who are fighting.

“They’re going to keep leaning on them until some start to save,” Brad added. “Once they get one or two of these to cave, then the rest are going to start jumping ship, too.”

A number of the original defendants pled guilty already and were sentenced to jail terms of 14 days to several months in jail.
